Terms of Service
Effective July 2026
Ember is a small, free app made with care. These terms are here so the arrangement between us is clear — read them the way you would read a note from a friend, not a contract from a stranger.
What Ember is
Ember offers a daily Catholic prayer practice — Scripture-rooted lines, the Rosary, and a short guided ritual for reflection and devotion. Ember is a devotional aid. It is not a substitute for the sacraments, for the life of a parish, or for spiritual direction, and it is not medical or mental-health advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to someone qualified to help — a priest, a counselor, or a person you trust.
Price
Ember is free — every collection, every theme, and every feature. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads. There is nothing to buy, and nothing withheld until you pay. Prayer should not have a paywall.
Content & copyright
Ember's prayer library is for your personal use within the app and in the cards you choose to share. The Scripture lines are original paraphrase, each carrying its citation, so no licensed translation text is reproduced. The prayers of the Rosary and the Church's traditional prayers are in the public domain. The prayers and intentions you write yourself remain entirely yours.
Fair use
Please don't reverse engineer, resell, or misrepresent Ember, or use its content to imply an endorsement it doesn't have. We may update these terms as the app grows; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
An independent app
Ember is an independent work of devotion, made by its developer. It follows the Church's traditional prayers and calendar with care, but it is not officially affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by the Holy See, any diocese, or any religious order.
No warranty
Ember is provided “as is,” with the sincere hope that it helps you pray. We can't promise it will be free of every bug or available at every moment, and to the extent the law allows, we offer it without warranties. If something is wrong, tell us — we want to fix it.
